Cloak Engaged Privacy Policy
Updated February 14, 2024
Introduction
Cloak Engaged is a VPN service. Our main goal is to protect our users privacy and be transparent about our data handling practices, and to explain those practices clearly without obscuring anything behind technical or legal jargon.
Information Collected
1 - Discord User ID
The only information we require to create your account is a Discord user ID. We do not ask for or store any other personal information, not even a name or email address, because we don’t need them.
We use your Discord user ID as your account ID. Your credits and active VPN passes are linked to this user ID. As a result, we don’t need to have any logins, or know your name or email address.
2 - Monthly Bandwidth Usage
When you use our VPN, the only information we’re able to see is your total monthly bandwidth usage (the total number of Gigabytes sent and received in a given month). This isn’t real-time data; we only see these numbers update once a day.
We use your total monthly bandwidth usage to estimate an average monthly usage across all users. This helps us optimize server capacity. And since network bandwidth is a resource we have to purchase, this allows us to anticipate future bandwidth requirements, and allocate bandwidth resources accordingly.
No Data Logging
At no point do we see, collect, store, or log, any other information about your usage of the service. What that means is, when you use our VPN, we don’t know what websites you’re visiting, or what data you’re sending / receiving. We don’t know what device you’re using, or what apps you’re using, or even what your original IP address is.
